hooroo - Urban Dictionary 2020
1. interjection distinctively Australian way of saying “goodbye”
Wish your folk a good year and a happy holidays with this 'hoo-roo' show bag featuring our national iconic and none other than one half of our coat of arms, the roo. Hooroo, see you in 2021!
This Chrissie showbag includes a fresh baked loaf of our house gingerbread, made with treacle, orange rind and fresh ginger, festive maple & cinnamon popcorn from the Serious Food co and an orange & hazelnut "Twilight Flight" chocolate mini from Melbourne's own Willa Wonka confectionaire, Hey Tiger. The mini chocoalte box and it's terrific kanga-rudolph design is the handiwork of Sydney artist, Aley Hanson. All wrapped up in a linen tea-towel from iconic third generaiton textile press & desginers, Rodriguez. Rodriguez prints have graced many oven doors & linen drawers for over 70 years now, but also displayed at Canberra's National Gallery and the Powerhouse. Also included in the showbag is our christmas card celebrating Kinfolk's 700th kitchen restock and the donation of over 12,000 meals - just a little reminder of the good work facilitated by your support.
PS. Did you know? The roo was selected over many other indigienous native oddities such as the platypus and echidna to hold up one half of the Australian Coat of Arms for its unique inability to move backwards. It's for this kind of attitude and logic that we think this magnificent, goofy creature with oversized feet & inbuilt car seat deserves the unofficial honour of being our motif for 2020.
